CZN Tech announces the Integration with QuickBooks Online and the development of new functionality that enables users to create price lists that import into flooring software, design software, accounting and ERP systems!

The latest version of CZN Tech pricing enables current QuickBooks Online users to export any pricing and product information from the CZN Tech pricing program, directly into QuickBooks Online. It also enables users to create price sheets that can be imported into flooring software such as RFMS, QFloors, Floorzap, RollMaster, Pacific Solutions, as well as QuickBooks and other accounting and ERP software. The program also allows users to import pricing for all materials, flooring, lighting, furniture, all home improvement products and add an unlimited amount of margin levels to their pricing. It also gives users the ability to price out their showrooms with bar codes, so that they can easily change prices in the program and not on the samples.

Creating Estimates Made Easy

Creating Estimates Made Easy

People ask me what other functions the CZN Tech flooring pricing software has and I love telling them about how this system lets users import Labor price lists, along with material price list. So often a sales person will be with a client and they are able to easily put together a quote with labor if the jobs is a straight forward job with say, just carpet, pad and install. However, if they are out in the field and they come across something different, maybe a job to where they need baseboards removed, some leveling done, or something that they don’t price out everyday, then this can be a real problem for putting a quote together in a timely manner. However, with this software, the sales person can have all of those “not so typical” labor charges available to them, along with all the material prices! It’s truly a game changer, no more guessing and losing money by guessing incorrectly!

Sort, Search, Filter and Compare

One of my favorite functions of the flooring pricing software, aside from importing all the different price lists, is that it has an amazing sort, search, filter and compare function. It makes finding your best priced carpet, tile, deco or whatever your searching for so easy to find! It makes finding a collection to complete a project a breeze! Say that you have a tile project and you need a collection that has decos, liners, and a 12×36 ceramic within the collection. You can get very specific with what your search parameters are, within the program, type them into the program and search. This replaces the old way of finding this information by having to look through 10 different catalogs and hundreds of pages! Such a time saver! Also, these built in functions make it very easy to find products by price and you can compare your pricing from different manufacturers. If you have a client that’s on a strict budget and they want you to give them the least expensive tile option or carpet option that you have, you can easily do a search and filter to determine what this product would be, all within a few short seconds!

Technology: System integration makes business a breeze

Technology: System integration makes business a breeze

Technology can be confusing, especially when you look at the nitty gritty of what makes up a software program. A lot of pieces go into creating a program that has the ultimate goal of making the software user’s life easier. One specific component of flooring software designed to streamline business processes is system integration.

According to Chad Ogden, president, QFloors, there are three types of system integrations available. The first is called proprietary, which involves two developers from different companies working together to decide how they are going to exchange information.

The second is B2B. For this type of integration, Ogden explained, the developers do not have to get together there are set agreements on how everything will be transferred. “If everybody plays by the rules things can be transferred without developers getting together,” he said. “This means, if I do it right then I can have 10 different manufacturers or suppliers do their end, and I don’t have to communicate directly with any of them. Typically, this kind of integration follows what’s called an industry standard, which is fcB2B for the flooring industry.”

Technology: 10 questions to ask potential software providers

Choosing the right software for your business is often a significant investment. Whether it’s ERP, CRM, measuring, inventory, etc., installing new flooring software requires time, money and patience. Before a dealer wastes all three, he or she should have a list of questions ready for potential software providers.

FCNews spoke with several top flooring software companies to compile a list of questions dealers should ask before investing in software.

How long have you been working in the flooring space?

“There are lots of great software options out there for businesses, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they are great for flooring dealers,” noted James Wisdom, vice president business development, Measure Square. “In our space, there are many specifics that generic systems just aren’t equipped to handle. Updating or switching systems is never an easy process; it’s even worse if you go through all the trouble just to find out that at the deepest level
